Shouldn't You Know Better?

Well, as you may have experienced yourself, KNOWING a thing is not always the same as DOING the thing. We KNOW we should exercise, eat vegetables, sleep 8 hours, moderate our drinking and eating...yet we eat HoHo's, watch 9 hours of Netflix, and day drink. It's not an information problem, it is an application problem!

I do have over 30 years of therapy experience, and I have been alive 60 years, and this small book is, in its own way, a love letter to people like me who are working through our early life experience to create a richer, more joyous present life. Along the way, we do not always choose wisely. In fact, people who love me NEVER want me to choose without supervision, lol!

In addiction recovery, we use the term "harm reduction" which mitigates harmful behavior so that we limit the damage to ourselves. Seat belts are harm reduction, for example. BAD TASTE is a guide to limit the trouble you get yourself into while you are learning to take care of yourself, or you have surrendered and figure you will always be a relationship disaster so want to limit the damage!

There is also a page for your friends who love you, because they can struggle with how to hang in there with us. They can feel helpless and a little overwhelmed depending on how much drama our new man may bring to the situation. I encourage you to pass it along to them.

I wish you well with your journey, and I appreciate your willingness to share mine!
